"Walking GIF" Contest

Trade show booth draw

This is one of my favorite booth draw ideas I had for a recent Las Vegas broadcasters trade show. That year we introduced a new feature in our software where you can share TV (clips, GIFs and video) to social media to increase engagement on Twitter and Facebook.

To create awareness on the trade show floor, I created the "Walking GIF" contest. Attendees entered the contest by posting a selfie with the "Walking GIF" on Twitter with the official trade show hashtag. The picture with the most retweets + favorites combined won an Apple Watch.

A trade show floor is very similar to a Twitter feed where many things are vying for your attention. Just like our new feature, we used an attention-grabbing, real-life "Walking GIF" to cut through the visual noise and engage the audience.

If you are wondering, yes... that's me in the Left Shark costume. (-:

We printed an accompanying banner stating the "Walking GIF" rules.

As you can see, people loved taking a selfie with the "Walking GIF." It doubled the amount of walking traffic leads at the booth.
